Journey to the far north of the Sea of Cortez, sailing past Loreto Bay National Park, Santa Rosalia, Bahia Las Animas and Bahia de los Angeles until the very end of Angel de la Guarda Island, where you will be rewarded with the most breathtaking views of a seemingly barren and desolate island.
Enjoy a trek ashore before heading back south, to discover it is not as barren as it may appear from the boat. A 3-meter tidal range makes for strong currents and often choppy seas, but the reward is well worth the struggle to reach Puerto Refugio.
